In the past, racial was made as a massive issue thorough out the world. Even though, this matter as subsided over the years it still is a problem in the 21st century. This matter has had many consequences not only to an individual but in the bigger picture the world. In countries which are well developed also known as First World Countries such as Singapore the issue regarding race is minor since we live harmoniously in a multi-racial society. However, in countries that are not so developed also known as Third World Countries such as Malaysia the issue regarding race is severe. With the recent virus that is spreading worldwide, coronavirus also known as COVID-19 has been associated with quite a few racial issues. For example, in London, a Singaporean was being bashed and told “I don’t want your coronavirus in my country”. The man’s eye has swollen and his face was filled with bruises. Just because of a virus it has caused Chinese people to hurt due to the massive criticism. In Singapore, many from the Indian and Malay race have associated people from the Chinese race with the virus. Imagine, if you are Indian and people associate you as a rapist due to the massive amount of rape cases in India and if you are a Muslim, people associate you to being a terrorist due the massive amount of terrorist that are Muslim. This will definitely cause discomfort and hurt to any individual. Furthermore, most of these victims for COIVD-19 and the Chinese people are falsely being accused. Therefore, it is important that each and every one of us are well aware of what we speak, the comment and the actions we do.
In Malaysia, due to the fact that it has been dominated by the Malay community for many years it has allowed them to prosper and flourish, leaving the Chinese and Indian communities to injustice. Many of the students in the Chinese and Indian communities excel in their SPM exams with Straight As. However, 99% of the scholarship opportunities are entitled to the Malay students with SPM exam result of 1A to 4As instead. In which only 1% out of all the Chinese and Indian students getting straight As are entitled to getting scholarships. Furthermore, for those students that are unable to pursue their further education due to their financial background are left with no choice but to find a blue-collar job in which they are unable to attain sufficient amount of money to support their family and pay for their education. All this are being seen by the government but no action was made has even the cabinet seating are mostly consisting of Malays. This has resulted to many fights and issues regarding race. Thus, it is important to have a mix of each race as it reduces problems and it also allows citizens in pace and harmoniously.
